Saturday

Norma Jean was an original member of Chic, laying down vocals for their first album.   For some reason, she decided to go solo in 1978.  Bad Move.  Not only did she miss the spotlight that would have come with Chic's explosion into superstardom, but she garnered only one hit, the Chic-produced "Saturday," before fading away.   Well, that's not entirely true.  She did come back with State of Art (a duo with another ex-Chic member, Raymond Jones), who hit with "Understanding" in 1991.

I guess with Chic's other activities, they didn't have the time to produce another record for her.  Beyond "Saturday," Norma also represented with "High Society."
