Mellow Mellow Right On

Lowrell Simon is a cult figure in Chicago soul, having been involved with the Lost Generation (best known for "Sly, Slick and Wicked") and Mystique.  As a solo artist, Lowrell's fondness for extended-length mellow music caused some to refer to him as the Windy City's version of Barry White.  After leaving Mystique, he got a deal with the disco-identified AVI Records, where he made the often-sampled "Mellow Mellow Right On."  He also wrote Loleatta Holloway's "All About the Paper."   "Love Massage," from late 1981, was his last charting record.

Chicago soul redux and an indicator of Lowrell talents as a writer and singer.  The title cut was one of 1970's biggest tunes.
